Is Rungne's Magdust The Best Chalk? (Part One)

Another hot and humid climbing session in the books. Since I have to deal with these conditions every summer (and part of spring and fall), I am always on the look out for good chalk. There have been several videos posted on YouTube using Rungne's Magdust. The reviews all looked good so I had to give it a shot. This is part one of that review.

I don't have the best skin for climbing. My hands tend to sweat a good bit and I often run out of chalk on my fingertips after just a few moves. This issue is better in the winter when it's not as hot and humid. Due to this, I have tried most chalks (not all, but most) that have been on the market. I have even tried ones marketed to be better in hot, humid conditions. Most of the time I have been left disappointed. I'm sure those chalks work well for others, but they didn't work for me.

I am trying a problem that I have tried previously under similar conditions. This should allow for a fairly accurate assessment of Magdust. The problem is called To(e)tally due to the toe hook start. The crux move centers around a tiny small purple foothold (from escape climbing and power company climbing).

Stay tuned for next week's video!. That video will be a head to head comparison of Magdust and Moon Climbing's Moondust.
