TikTok’s “Free Speech” Lie: How the Algorithm Silences You

TikTok doesn’t care about free speech — they care about control.

We’ve all experienced it, a comment we make that’s beyond innocuous sets off the algorithm, and we get a ding.

We’re told that whatever we’ve done “violates community guidelines.”

The problem is: those “guidelines” are written so broadly, that anything and everything can be found to be in “violation” of them.

This isn’t moderation, it’s algorithmic censorship.

TikTok’s CEO, Shou Zi Chew, says they stand for “freedom of expression.”

He’s lying.

That as nonsense spewed for sound bites when the app was going to be banned in the United States.

You think you're being careful, and suddenly you’re shadowbanned.

Or muted.

Or suspended.

This isn’t paranoia. It’s the platform in action.
