That Batman was inspired by Zorro is not an original idea. No one has ever disputed it, and subsequent retellings of Batman's origin highlight that fact by having the film Bruce Wayne attended the night of his parents' murder be The Mark of Zorro.
While Zorro and Batman have obvious similarities, their differences are also stark. Zorro originated because the oppression his people felt under an unjust rule. Batman began under a much more personal and tragic situation.
Despite their differences, both heroes ultimately found their callings by helping the downtrodden.
