The Expanding Earth (Documentary)

This documentary explores the possibility that the Earth is expanding. The current scientific consensus for the locations of the continents is the continental drift theory. Continental drift proposes the continents were at one time gathered together on one side of the planet in a supercontinent called Pangea, then moved into their current positions through plate tectonics.

First proposed in 1889, the expanding Earth concept explores the possibility that the planet is expanding along ocean floor ridges worldwide, stretching and splitting as the planet expands. This would move the continents away from a central point, much like the expansion of a balloon rather than lateral movement.
