Suno - God's Not Distant

For all intents and purposes, this song is my riposte to Bette Midler's "From A Distance" song that was such a big hit in 1991. (She was actually not the first to sing it, but that song and its video are associated with her due to their runaway popularity at the time.) A lot of people seem to think it's a lovely song about world peace and everyone living in harmony and so forth, but if you're paying close attention to the lyrics, it's actually one of the worst and most Satanic songs ever sung since John Lennon (and so many of his fool admirers) sang his Commie crap "Imagine" song: put simply, "From A Distance" is a Deistic song claiming that God's sitting back and watching us at far too great a distance to notice any of the many evils humanity may ever commit short of an all-out thermonuclear war; a claim which is not at all conducive to world peace or everyone living in harmony with each other or any of those other ostensibly laudable causes people seem to imagine it's pushing, let alone anything approaching a theologically accurate view of how our Creator views and interacts with us. In response, therefore, I had Suno generate these lyrics and music to give that horrible heretical song the thorough shredding it deserves.

Lyrics:
[Verse 1]
From a distance, the world seems fine:
No tears, no pain, just bright sunshine.
From up close, it's a different tale;
Bette Midler's song's an epic fail!

[Chorus]
Oh, how pious seems Bette Midler's song,
But pay attention: it's all wrong!
God's not staying out of the fray;
Watches from here, not far away.

[Verse 2]
From a distance, God needs not see
Our evils and our cruelty.
Bette Midler, your song is a lie;
It claims our God is up too high.

[Chorus]
Oh, how pious seems Bette Midler's song,
But pay attention: it's all wrong!
God's not staying out of the fray;
Watches from here, not far away.

[Verse 3]
From a distance, our prayers would fail;
Talking to God would not avail,
But our God's not distant. He's here!
The Word of God is always near.

[Chorus]
Oh, how pious seems Bette Midler's song,
But pay attention: it's all wrong!
God's not staying out of the fray;
Watches from here, not far away.

[Verse 4]
From a distance, we can all pretend
We're at peace and our foe's our friend.
Here, we see through the illusion,
And the fog of war's confusion.

[Bridge]
From a distance, we fall for fakes,
But from up close, the facade breaks.
God's Son didn't hide up above,
But came down to show us His love.

[Instrumental]

[Chorus][x2]
Oh, how pious seems Bette Midler's song,
But pay attention: it's all wrong!
God's not staying out of the fray;
Watches from here, not far away.
