🧬 You Are the Temple—Literally

1 Corinthians 6:19: “Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you…?”

We say we’re God’s temple. But what if that wasn’t just a metaphor?

The Old Testament describes the temple in stunning detail: first the altar of sacrifice (blood), then the water basin, then the veil to the Holy of Holies—where the glory of God dwelled.

Science now confirms: our bodies mirror that exact pattern.

Inside us, blood flows first—just like on the altar. Then comes the interstitium, a fluid-filled space carrying water and nutrients—just like the basin. Then the cell membrane—the veil.

And inside? The nucleus. The most sacred part of the cell. It holds two strands of DNA—God’s written code of life—just as the ark held two stone tablets inscribed by the hand of God.

Moses couldn’t have known the structure of a human cell. DNA wasn’t discovered until 1953. But the Spirit did. And He built your body to reflect His glory from the inside out.

You’re not just metaphorically a temple.

You are literally holy ground.
