Eppenberg SBB Railway Tunnel - From installation to the breakthrough

The Eppenberg is one of the traffic bottlenecks in the Swiss railway network. The consortium ARGE Marti Eppenberg, under the direction of Marti Tunnel, is building the approximately 2.6 km long #tunnel.

For more than 2.5 years, Marti Solothurn and Marti Zürich have been working on the portal areas with extensive special civil engineering and concrete work. The efficient and powerful infrastructure of the installation sites is the central part for a successful realization.

Additionally, the tunnel boring machine had to be rebuilt in the underground, it was converted to a so-called #hydroshield.
