Reporting from The Sun- Migrant hotel residents were spotted laughing while they filmed protesters and counter-demonstrators clashing.

People staying at the Thistle City Barbican Hotel, in Islington, waved and blew kisses at protesters in the street below.

The protest outside the north London hotel, which has an exclusive use contract with the Home Office, was sparked earlier on Saturday.

Elsewhere, similar clashes took place in Manchester throughout the city centre.

Roughly 600 protesters, organised by Britain First, met outside Manchester Piccadilly train station.

Around 400 counter protesters were. led by Stand Up To Racism.

Greater Manchester Police confirmed that two arrests had been made during a “confrontation”.

Protests were also rife in Newcastle, with chaotic scenes unfolding outside the New Bridge Hotel in the city centre.
