Ireland data centres: Electricity consumption puts pressure on energy grid

Ireland is one of Europe’s main digital hubs, with the number of data centres on the rise to support global tech giants.

But behind the promise of innovation lies a growing crisis: these facilities now consume over 21-percent of the country’s electricity.

And now- the Irish national energy grid is under immense strain.
