I place the future in the hands of God.

1 You may ask how the mind could ever have made the ego. ²This is a perfectly reasonable question; in fact, the best question you could ask. ³There is no point in giving a historical answer, because the past does not matter in human terms, and history would not exist if the same errors were not being repeated in the present.

²Pain is my own idea. ³It is not a thought of God, but one I thought apart from Him and from His will. ⁴His will is joy and only joy for His beloved Son. ⁵And that I choose instead of what I made.

~With peace comes understanding. Aim for peace and understanding will follow.

~From the perspective of my body in a world of other bodies, it seems as if there are multiple minds and I am not the dreamer but a figure in the dream. The figures are not the dreamer but the dream. Dream figures don’t become aware of dreaming. The mind becomes aware of dreaming all the figures. In stillness the images are seen to be my own mind. For ego the images stand seemingly independent, and the mind of a brother is separate from mine.

~And from the perspective of believing I am a dream figure, it’s very complex and impossible to understand and experience the dreamer of the dream. It’s only once we slow down and stop ourselves, giving ourselves to the Teacher of the lesson, and becoming still in our being, that peace can come and bring understanding.

~I am not a dream figure. I am free.
~I am not the private mind of a dream figure. I am free.

~I am not a private mind or body. I am free.

4 Certainly sickness does not appear to be a decision. ²Nor would anyone actually believe he wants to be sick. ³Perhaps he can accept the idea in theory, but it is rarely if ever consistently applied to all specific forms of sickness both in the individual’s perception of himself and of all others as well. ⁴Nor is it at this level that the teacher of God calls forth the miracle of healing. ⁵He overlooks the mind and body, seeing only the face of Christ shining in front of him, correcting all mistakes and healing all perception. ⁶Healing is the result of the recognition by God’s teacher of Who it is that is in need of healing. ⁷This recognition has no special reference. ⁸It is true of all things that God created. ⁹In it are all illusions healed.
