Genesis 34 – Verses 1-5 - Dinah and the Tragedy at Shechem

In this intense and emotional chapter, Dinah, the daughter of Jacob and Leah, is defiled by Shechem, the son of Hamor. Though Shechem desires to marry her, the outrage leads Jacob’s sons to plot revenge. Under the pretense of making peace, they demand the men of Shechem be circumcised.
