In the Dear Sisters report sent to you yesterday, they noted Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov highlighted the unprecedented geopolitical landscape Russia now finds itself in: “The main task is to defeat the enemy...For the first time in history, Russia is fighting alone against the entire West...In World War I and World War II, we had allies...Now we have no allies on the battlefield...So we must rely on ourselves and not allow any weakness”—and they further noted that the United States Army in Europe released its 357-page document “How Russia Fights” last week, wherein it warningly observed: “Conceptually, this war is far bigger than Ukraine...Russia sees itself in a global conflict with the West, of which Ukraine is but one theater...Neither success nor failure in Ukraine will alter Russia’s global calculus”.

The total war the West is waging against Russia moved to the Commander Islands yesterday—in Russia they are called the Komandor Islands, which are a series of islands in the Russian Far East and a part of the Aleutian Islands, located about 175 kilometers (109 miles) east of the Kamchatka Peninsula in the Bering Sea—the opening salvo was fired by top Pentagon official Lieutenant Colonel Jeffrey Fritz, who declared: “The proposal is that the United States pursue the peaceful and pragmatic purchase of the Commander Islands from the Russian Federation for $15 billion, in order to monitor potential Chinese submarine activity attempting to enter the Arctic Ocean”—then Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova immediately fired back: “This is not even worth commenting on, since selling our Motherland is regarded—both legally and ethically— as one of the gravest crimes...But if Fritz has that kind of money, he could make America great again by paying off at least part of the US national debt”.

An hour after Russia made it clear that the United States would never get its hands on the Commander Islands, it saw President Donald Trump issuing the threat: “Ten days from today...And then we're gonna put on tariffs and stuff...I don't know if it’s gonna affect Russia, because Putin wants to obviously probably keep the war going, but we're gonna put tariffs and various things”—a threat joined by United States Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent warning: “The Chinese take their sovereignty very seriously...We don't want to impede on their sovereignty, so they'd like to pay a 100% tariff...So I think anyone who buys sanctioned Russian oil should be ready for this”.

A few hours after President Trump issued his “various things” threat against Russia, the Bering Sea seabed near the Commander Islands was slammed by a 8.8 magnitude megaquake, that makes it tied for the 6th biggest earthquake in recorded history.

The American desire for “primacy” over Russia was clearly articulated in 1997 by Zbigniew Brzezinski (Former National Security Adviser to President Jimmy Carter) first in his book “The Grand Chessboard” and in the October/November Foreign Affairs article “A Geostrategy for Eurasia.” I call your attention to page 60 of the latter article which depicts a map demonstrating Russia broken up into a “European Russia,” a “Siberian Russia,” and a “Far Eastern Russia.” So even back then the US foreign policy intelligentsia openly stated its hostility to Russia. President Bill Clinton’s second Secretary of State, Madeline Albright, was a nasty, toxic woman who made no effort to conceal her antipathy toward Russia.

Then there was the “Wolfowitz Doctrine” of the early 1990s which articulated the US Defense Department’s plan for maintaining US global hegemony. This document was disavowed by the Bush-41 administration, but it is clear that US global hegemony was the intent of the US foreign policy and defense establishments.

And then, of course, we have the 2019 book by the RAND Corporation, a US Defense Department think tank, entitled “Extending Russia” which described many methods that the US might employ to weaken Russia including “blocking” the Nordstream Pipeline and inciting political unrest along Russia’s Western border in Ukraine.

The antipathy toward Russia by US foreign policy elites—of both political parties—cannot be made more explicit than what I described above.
