The Corinthian Church began taking up an offering for the church in Jerusalem, which had fallen into some hard times financially. Then something happened to sidetrack the church from continuing in its commitment to collect funds for the Jerusalem Church. A year had passed, and Paul wrote to them, encouraging them to complete what they had started.
