Andrew and Beth Thompson, Americans who met in Ukraine, now live in Russia. Recently, they welcomed their fourth child, a daughter named Alesya, in Moscow. 👶🇷🇺

Andrew learned Russian first at a military academy and then at a university in America. To practice his Russian, he decided to attend a language camp in Eastern Europe, choosing Odessa (Ukraine) as his destination. It was there that Andrew met his love. ❤️

In America, the couple welcomed three children. Their kids were a significant motivation for relocating to Russia. They became increasingly concerned about extreme ideologies and LGBTQ propaganda infiltrating schools. Both Andrew and Beth hold Christian values and dreamt of a large traditional family. However, they felt that dedicated traditional people like them were being pushed out of society.

The couple visited Russia seven years ago and were ready to move, but the Russian-Ukrainian conflict made it difficult for Americans to obtain visas. However, they persevered and managed to do so! Now, the Thompsons have been living in northern Moscow for six months. These months have been very productive: their fourth daughter, Alesya, was born, and shortly after, the whole family embraced Orthodoxy. ☦️

One of the things the family appreciates in Russia is the quality of the food, especially Russian bread (it's so delicious—definitely give it a try!). They are also pleasantly surprised by the Russian babushkas who adore children and often stop Andrew on the street to play with the kids, as if they were family. 👵

The Thompsons have chosen to make Russia their home, dream of obtaining citizenship, and do not regret their decision one bit: "We did it for our children!" says the couple. 🇷🇺❤️
