In this episode, we invite on historian Dr. Nick Creary to talk about African languages, literatures, and oratures as we recognize the passing of the great Ngũgĩ wa Thiong'o. Ngũgĩ is a Gĩkũyũ theorist and writer who shifted the landscape of decolonization in African literature and across the global South. We talk about the psychological violence done by colonial language education, resistance to linguistic imperialism, and much more.
