: In May of 1949, 19-year-old Fred Morsching took his high school sweetheart for a night out in Faribault, Minnesota. After roller skating and a movie, they drove to a secluded spot by Croemer’s Creek—a place known to locals as lover’s lane. What happened next was sudden and brutal. A stranger emerged from the woods with a gun, killed Fred, and vanished into the night. Despite bloodhounds, fingerprint analysis, and lineups, no one was ever arrested. Who was the man with the .22? Why was he never found? This is the story of a small-town murder that has remained unsolved for over 75 years.
