The cracks for Fantastic Four were already starting to form after the opening weekend with a noticeable slide in box office revenue from Friday to Saturday. This has been a problem for many Marvel movies in recent years. With general audiences checking out of the franchise, the only people left are the die-hard Marvel fans that watch the movie opening weekend and not again. The positive audience score on sites like Rotten Tomatoes had the potential to bring back general audiences, but it would seem the positive reception is because the movie is okay and not great.
