Hey everyone, it’s Leaflit. In today’s video, I respond to the heartbreaking flash floods that swept through Central Texas—especially Kerr County and Camp Mystic—claiming at least 82 lives, including 28 children, with dozens still missing after the Guadalupe River surged 20–26 feet in under an hour.

But what’s equally tragic is the tone-deaf mockery from some online—jokes like “This is what you get for voting Trump” are absolutely disgusting. I'm calling out those mockers: this isn’t political retribution—it’s human loss. We must treat grieving families and lost children with respect, not political spite.

In this video, I:

Break down the latest death toll and ongoing search efforts;

Highlight the severity of the floods and the failures that worsened them (like inadequate warning systems);

Expose the cruelty of politicizing death and grieving over political affiliation;

Call for compassion, unity, and real action—supporting victims, rescuers, and campaigning for better emergency systems.

Over 82 people died, including 28 children, with ~41 missing in Kerr County following massive flash floods in early July.

The Guadalupe River spiked nearly 26 feet in under an hour, devastating summer camps and local communities.

Critics are blaming forecasting failures and inadequate warning systems—Texas had repeatedly requested funding for alerts since 2018, and there were known staffing cuts to the National Weather Service.

And while officials, rescue crews, and volunteers work nonstop, a few online mockers are using death as political commentary—jokes like “it’s what you get for voting Trump.” That’s not witty—it’s cruel. In my video, I stand firmly with the victims and crush these toxic reactions.
