In this video I discuss an interesting verse in the Biblical text of Genesis. A single aleph that shows up as a read form in the Pentateuch, but not in the written form. If you're looking for a Bible That means Torah scrolls say one thing, but there is a tradition to read the text differently. The King James Version went after the read form, rather that what was written on the Torah scroll. This aleph appears in the story of Leah and Jacob, and according to Rashi, what the written form of the Bible text teaches that she felt betrayed by Jacob, but is there any truth to this? And why did Rashi think this way? And what is the truth? Is it a scribal error? Is it a contradiction? What does it mean? Many questions about this mysterious occurence.
