“In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.”
This verse is God speaking after the fall of man. Because of sin, life became hard—work, struggle, sweat—and eventually, death. “From dust you came, and to dust you will return.” It’s a humbling truth: we’re not eternal on our own. Without God, we fade. But this verse isn’t the end—it’s the reason we need a Savior. Though our bodies return to dust, our souls can live forever through Christ. Life is short. Eternity is not.
