FLY LIKE SUPERMAN - Caspar McCloud Band album ‘Higher Frequencies’ you are invited watch the music video to this song.
I just had the pleasure of listening to the Higher Frequencies release by the Caspar McCloud Band. This is a Rock and Roll project with a style that pulls from the best influences of the decades of Classic Rock. And, this is no low-octane offering from a once great musician—Caspar’s guitar work is still absolutely first class, and it is combined with a worthy band that delivers. While Caspar is known for his gifting with the guitar, it is not as often acknowledged that he has a great voice and it shines throughout this release.

Higher Frequencies is full of well-written songs, with great production that is rich with arrangements crafted by musicians who know what they’re doing—and there are fourteen tracks to enjoy, a very full disc with an hour and fourteen minutes of music.

My favorite track is “For the Love of God,” a great, Latin-influenced offering that has a great feel. You will find yourself chair dancing while stuck in traffic. “Nurse Kate” is a really fun cut with echoes of ‘80s and ‘90s rock with vocals you will be compelled to shout along with. A wonderful surprise on this project was “Soakers Jig,” an instrumental reminiscent of an English folk style.

Then, track 11 started—immediately I thought, “Wait a minute… Hello!” A driving groove supported by a prominent bass line played by Kenneth Bentley, this cut rocks hard. “Backslider,” an example of Caspar’s great vocals and one of my favorites, will get your head nodding like Wayne and Garth.

“Georgia Guidestones,” had me cheering out loud with the lyrics, “The Georgia Guidestones have fallen down, fallen down, fallen down. The Georgia Guidestones have fallen down. Goodbye globalists.” You will sing along with Caspar on this feel-good victory anthem.
The final piece on this project is “Whitestone Master,” an acoustic track that really showcases Caspar’s virtuosic abilities, without being showy for show’s sake. And it is placed just where it should be, because the programming (order of songs on a CD) is thoughtfully done.
If you are a rock lover, or a music lover, you may just love this project. The lyrics are faithfully gleaned from the Word of God and sung by a man who walks the walk.

Real musicians, playing real music, God-honoring songs written by real song writers, Higher Frequencies will not disappoint. Check it out. It might just make it into your favorites collection.
