Сегодня многие считают, что верить в Дьявола старомодно. Однако засилье зла в нашем мире иначе как существованием Дьявола не объяснить. Кроме того, отвергнув идею о существовании Дьявола, многие отвергли и веру в Бога, а вместе с ней и все нравственные нормы.
«Самая лучшая из всех выдумок дьявола,— написал Шарль Пьер Бодлер, поэт XIX века,— убедить нас в том, что его не существует». Дьявол, пытаясь заставить людей поверить в то, что его нет, поставил под сомнение существование Бога. Если Дьявола нет, то ответственность за все зло ложится на Бога, из-за чего многие теряют в него веру. Разве не этого добивается Дьявол?
Подобно авторитету криминального мира, Дьявол скрывает, кем является в действительности, чтобы достичь своей цели. Какой? В Библии объясняется: «Бог этой системы вещей ослепил умы [неверующих], чтобы для них не воссиял свет славной благой вести о Христе, который есть образ Бога» (2 Коринфянам 4:4).
Today many people think that believing in the Devil is old-fashioned. However, the prevalence of evil in our world cannot be explained other than by the existence of the Devil. Furthermore, by rejecting the idea that the Devil exists, many have also rejected belief in God, and with it all moral standards.
“The best of all the Devil's inventions,” wrote Charles Pierre Baudelaire, a 19th century poet, "is to convince us that he does not exist. The Devil, by trying to make people believe that he does not exist, has cast doubt on the existence of God. If the Devil does not exist, then God is responsible for all evil, causing many to lose faith in him. Isn't that what the Devil is trying to accomplish?
Like an underworld authority figure, the Devil hides who he really is in order to accomplish his goal. What is it? The Bible explains: “The God of this system of things has blinded the minds [of unbelievers], lest the light of the glorious good news about Christ, who is the image of God, should shine for them” (2 Corinthians 4:4).
