Bangor, ME - A police dashboard camera released Wednesday captured audio of the moment when Bangor officers shot a man on Broadway in June.

The 13-second-long video comes from a dashboard camera when Bangor police officers responded to a 911 call about a suicidal person with a gun on Broadway in Bangor near the Glenburn town line on June 26.

The dash camera video is the first footage to emerge from the shooting. The Bangor Daily News obtained the video through a records request. Maine law allows video depicting the use of deadly force to be released before an investigation is complete.

Officers can be heard yelling “Drop it” and “Don’t do it” before at least nine gunshots ring out. The patrol vehicle is facing away from the shooting and does not capture it on camera.

One person was injured in the shooting.
