AR-0177: Legendary Italian director Antonio Margheriti did some crime thrillers in the 1970s with equally legendary actor Lee Van Cleef and this particular subject of review is perhaps the most well-known, given it is easy to find on public domain DVDs [the source of my archive copy BTW].

Snake Plissken's future arch rival plays a retired master safe cracker who is tracked down by the shifty son of a long-dead friend who is in debt to some German mobsters and needs his help to open a safe filled with diamonds in order to settle the debt.

But as the old saying goes: "No honour amongst thieves"...

Definitely an interesting example of Italian crime thriller, with some quirks that makes watching it somewhat worthwhile [although it is an average effort], and Van Cleef is at his sneering best... As usual for the guy.

If you're a fan of old Eurojank cheese, this one might be of interest. Serious crime fans will use this as visual wallpaper for their parties.

My Grade: C [Average]
