Episode 4 - There was a moment in history when the true faith of the early believers was hijacked by empire and that moment was the rise of Constantine & the institutionalized Roman Catholic church. He is often hailed in church history as the first Christian emperor, but a closer look reveals something far more sinister. Constantine was not a man of God. He was a cunning political strategist, a lifelong worshiper of Sol Invictus, the Roman sun god and a man deeply steeped in paganism. His so called “conversion” was not a surrender to the Lordship of Jesus Christ, but a move to unify his fracturing empire by merging the growing movement of believers with the state’s religious authority. He did not bow to Christ. He absorbed the church into Rome and merged pagan statues and other beliefs of compromise.
