Dennis Marsden will be discussing his ordeals associated with some court cases he has had.

Marsden published an anonymous, political tract in 2021 criticizing public officials for enforcing COVID mandates and Woke ideology—the tract was produced anonymously to avoid retaliation. Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office investigated to identify the tract’s author and Bonneville County prosecuted Marsden because he refused to surrender his anonymity by demanding that he identify himself to the secretary of state. Marsden defended himself, pro se, winning the criminal case. The officials responsible for the investigation and the prosecution knew that anonymous speech is a protected right from the outset of events but ignored the right by investigating and prosecuting anyway. Marsden will give a PowerPoint presentation detailing individual public officials’ participation, good and bad, in the investigation and prosecution. Marsden filed a federal civil rights lawsuit following his win in criminal court.
