Olav Sorenson is a professor at UCLA Anderson who specializes in economic geography and the influence of entrepreneurship on regional growth and competitiveness. His research has been published in over 90 papers in leading academic journals, and he has received several prestigious awards, including the 2018 Global Award for Entrepreneurship Research. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, he is the faculty research director at the Harold and Pauline Price Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation, where he plans to build a research arm dedicated to entrepreneurial studies. Prior to joining UCLA Anderson, Sorenson taught at several other universities and received his bachelor’s degree from Harvard College and his master’s and doctoral degrees from Stanford University.
