The "A" Words for Attachment-Based Needs (Going beyond Arousal Templates)

Aside from arousal templates, another alternative to using the "sexual orientation" paradigm is identifying the attachment-based emotional longings that are prone to being eroticized. Whether you deal with same-sex attraction, disordered opposite-sex attraction, or lack much sexual arousal, it's important to know your core desires and deficits: attention, affection, attunement, acceptance, approval, affiliation, and admiration (the "A" words).
