U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent headed into the third round of U.S.-China trade talks yesterday with confidence, trusting Trump to secure a China trade deal. We continue to make progress in talks with Chinese officials while already having secured trade deal frameworks with several of China’s largest trading partners, including the EU, Japan, Indonesia, and Vietnam. President Trump is reigniting American industry by rebalancing global trade one country at a time. But at the same time, my guest today writes in his latest newsletter “For years, Washington has mortgaged America’s future on the assumption that the world—particularly China—would always foot the bill. But that illusion is unraveling. This May, China cut its U.S. Treasury holdings for the third month in a row, reducing its position to $756.3 billion, the lowest since 2009. That’s a 30% drawdown over four years.” My guest today is Hunter Gaylor, Executive Partner and financial expert at MarketBridge Advisors, a co-host and global markets contributor on the show "New to the Street" which airs on Newsmax, Fox Business, and Bloomberg, and also an award-winning author of the book "Planes Plants & Politics."
