Ghislaine Maxwell’s request for immunity in exchange for testimony denied

Lawmakers have denied Ghislaine Maxwell’s request for congressional immunity in exchange for her testimony about Jeffrey Epstein.

Maxwell, serving a 20-year sentence for sex trafficking, was subpoenaed to testify before the House Oversight Committee on August 11.

Her lawyer submitted conditions, including full immunity and advance access to questions, citing concerns about legal exposure and testifying in prison.

The committee rejected these demands.

Despite reports that Maxwell is willing to speak, her legal team wants to delay testimony until after pending Supreme Court appeals, the Daily Mail has reported.

Lawmakers remain concerned about her safety and the credibility of the process.
