EXCERPT:
"Welcome to the Shuv Show. I’m your host Christene Jackman.
Tonight’s topic is: “Kingdom Now Theology and the 1 John 4 Refutation.”

Years ago, I attended a congregation that had broken off from a larger one. Although I loved the people there, I had to leave after hearing this message given one Sunday.
The Pastor claimed with great conviction: “The Kingdom is now. There is no rapture. And Jesus is not going to literally return and literally rule and reign from Jerusalem. The Kingdom is now.”

Now, I knew that God never breaks His Word. And I knew that if Messiah had literally come in the flesh, He would return in the Flesh. Scripture says so. This Pastor must have been marinating too long in the Kingdom Now or Dominion type of theology, as well as some Amillennialism.

According to Theopedia.com: “Amillennialism is the view in Christian eschatology which states that Christ is presently reigning through the Church, and that the "1000 years" of Revelation 20:1-6 is a metaphorical reference to the present church age which will culminate in Christ's return.”

In this belief, you see classic Greco/Roman/Western mindset: separating the real and the spiritual, dividing body from spirit; linear thinking, preferring an either/or answer.

But the Bible is written from a Hebraic, Near Eastern mindset: what has been will be again, there is nothing new under the sun, answers can be “yes and yes” or “yes, no, and it depends.”
Spirit & Body are united. God does not cleave body and spirit, action and thought, real from shadow. Love is a verb. Head knowledge is not enough: action is needed.

What really bothered me that day when the Pastor exposed his version of Kingdom Now theology was his belief that Yeshua would not come back literally, in the flesh. Scripture says:

1 Yochanan/John 4:1-3
“Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Messiah Yeshua has come in the flesh is of God, and every spirit that does not confess that Messiah Yeshua has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the [spirit] of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.”

If denying that Messiah Yeshua came in the flesh was an antichrist type spirit, so too, is denying that He will return in the flesh. Remember the angels declared that day . . . "
