The Warning and the Promise – A Prophetic Blues Song from Psalm 14

🎵Psalm 14 is a raw and urgent cry from King David—a confrontation with the spiritual decay of mankind. This song brings that cry to life through a gritty, blues-driven sound with prophetic intensity.

“The fool has said in his heart, ‘There is no God.’”
David’s words aren’t just about disbelief—they expose a deeper rebellion. A world that ignores God becomes corrupt from the inside out. The result? “There is no one who does good—no, not one.”

Yet in this sobering truth, there is a promise:
“God is in the generation of the righteous.”
Even when most turn away, God is with the remnant who still seek Him. He is their refuge. He sees. He restores.

This song gives voice to that divine tension—between the sorrow of corruption and the hope of redemption. With haunting slide guitar, echoing vocal lines, and a steady prophetic rhythm, it stirs both conviction and comfort.

📖 Psalm 14 (WEB)
1 The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.”
They are corrupt. They have done abominable deeds.
There is no one who does good.
2 Yahweh looked down from heaven on the children of men,
to see if there were any who understood, who sought after God.
3 They have all gone aside. They have together become corrupt.
There is no one who does good, no, not one.
4 Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge,
who eat up my people as they eat bread, and don’t call on Yahweh?
5 There they were in great fear,
for God is in the generation of the righteous.
6 You frustrate the plan of the poor,
because Yahweh is his refuge.
7 Oh that the salvation of Israel would come out of Zion!
When Yahweh restores the fortunes of his people,
then Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.

🎙️ Lyrics: Psalm 14: The Warning and the Promise Blues

Verse 1
The fool says in his heart, “Ain’t no God around.”
But his hands are stained, and his soul’s run aground
He trades truth for lies, and mercy for gain—
But justice is coming on the thunder and rain.

Verse 2
Yahweh looks down from His holy throne,
Searchin’ the earth for a heart to call His own
But none understand, none seek the Way
They’ve all turned aside, gone astray.

Chorus
(echoed call)
(There is no one...)
There is no one who does good—no, not one
Not under the stars, not under the sun
They feast on the poor like their daily bread
But they forgot what the prophets said...

Verse 3
They never call on Yahweh’s name,
But now they tremble in their shame
For God is with the righteous still—
The ones who walk in His holy will.

Bridge
You mocked the refuge of the poor,
But you didn’t see who stood at their door.
Yahweh Himself, their secret shield—
And every hidden truth shall be revealed.

Final Chorus
Oh, let salvation rise from Zion's hill!
Let Jacob dance and Israel thrill
For when Yahweh restores what was lost before,
The earth will shake... and Heaven will roar!

[Outro – gentle echo fade]
(There is no one...)
No one who does good... but He is still good...
