Fantastic Four Underperforms at the Box Office | A Big Drop Could be Expected

Fantastic Four: First Steps had a solid opening weekend, but it’s already showing early signs that the film may experience a significant box office drop in its second week.

Between Friday and Saturday, Fantastic Four saw a theater drop of over 40%. This is greater than other recent Marvel projects that saw a huge drop in ticket sales following their opening weekend. In recent years Marvel’s ticket sales have been front loaded with the die-hard Marvel fans showing up for the opening weekend, but then not again. In the past Marvel had appeal to general audience that would then see the superhero movies their subsequent weeks, but it hasn’t been the case with recent MCU entries and the word of mouth for Fantastic Four may not help it either.
