She was once the pride of Victorian engineering, then left to rust on the other side of the world. But thanks to a daring rescue, the SS Great Britain now stands proudly once more in her Bristol home.

This full documentary dives into the remarkable story of Isambard Kingdom Brunel’s SS Great Britain: a ship that revolutionised sea travel and helped shape the modern world. Once the biggest and fastest passenger vessel ever built, she nearly disappeared from history after being abandoned in the Falkland Islands.

In this video, I take you on an immersive journey across the decks and deep into the ship’s past, from pioneering propeller technology to its return to glory in 1970.

Alongside behind-the-scenes access to the ship's interactive museums and Victorian interiors, you’ll also find personal touches, from a nostalgic home movie filmed by my father back in the 1990s, to sharing a Sunday Roast with my family in the beautifully restored dining saloon.

You'll even meet a brilliant Brunel reenactor and step inside a recreation of the great engineer's office, bringing the story to life like never before.

Whether you’re planning a visit to Bristol or just love British history, this film brings one of the UK’s greatest maritime stories to your screen.
