CEO of Callisto: Technology to connect survivors of serial perpetrators

What if I told you that most perpetrators of sexual violence aren’t one-time offenders—but repeat perpetrators who harm multiple people? And what if I told you that survivors often hold the key to stopping them—but the systems in place make it nearly impossible for them to connect?

I’m Tracy DeTomasi, a licensed clinical social worker with 25 years in gender-based violence. I’ve sat across from adolescent sex offenders in therapy rooms. I’ve led domestic violence shelters, engaged men as allies in prevention, and spearheaded an international campaign to bring awareness to this issue. Now, I run Callisto, a groundbreaking nonprofit using encrypted technology to help survivors safely and confidentially find others harmed by the same perpetrator—without having to report publicly.

Here’s the truth: The way we currently address sexual violence isn’t working. But technology, community, and collective action could change everything.
