Malcon’s Story: A Journey of Loss, Hope, and the Power of Compassion

Malcon is a humble man from Honduras who once made a living trimming dead branches from tall African palm trees. He used a tool called a malario—a long metal rod with a sharp blade at the end.

One rainy evening, four years ago, as darkness fell and rain blurred his vision, Malcon unknowingly placed the blade near a hidden high-voltage power line. As he pulled down to cut a branch, a powerful surge of electricity shot through his body.

In an instant, his life was changed forever.
Both of his legs were blown off. His pants caught fire. His arms were so badly burned they had to be amputated—his right arm suffering the worst damage.

Malcon is not only a dear friend but also a brother in Christ. By God’s grace, I found a Christian nonprofit organization, Hope To Walk, willing to help him. While they serve from the heart, we still need to cover the cost of materials to build his prosthetics.

That’s why we launched a GiveSendGo campaign to raise funds for all four prosthetic limbs—his arms and legs:

Hope To Walk works in partnership with Hospital Loma de Luz, located just three hours from Malcon’s home. By God's provision and the generosity of donors, we were able to raise enough to cover his leg prosthetics.

On July 15, the Hope To Walk team traveled to Hospital Loma de Luz and successfully created and fitted both prosthetic legs. Malcon is now walking again—and he is overwhelmed with gratitude to God and to everyone who gave so generously.

But his journey is not over.
We still need to raise $5,430 to cover the materials for his arm prosthetics, which are more complex and expensive.

If this story has touched your heart, please don’t delay—be part of this next miracle and give today. Every gift matters, and Malcon will be deeply grateful for your love in action.
