Bos, 37, disappeared in February and was reported missing by her family in March; her decomposed remains were discovered at Mendoza‑Gonzalez’s Waukegan home. Despite facing charges of concealing and abusing a corpse and obstruction of justice, Mendoza‑Gonzalez—an undocumented immigrant—was released after his initial court appearance under Illinois' cash‑bail‑free. Bos’s mother spoke directly with President Trump last week, reportedly prompting him to respond “watch what happens” — and days later, ICE took Mendoza‑Gonzalez into custody at a Chicago market. Following the arrest, Bos’s mother is urging lawmakers to revisit bail reform laws, citing public safety concerns.
