"Everybody's Got to Learn Sometime" is a 1980 hit single by British pop band The Korgis, written by James Warren and released on their second album, Dumb Waiters. It reached number 5 on the UK Singles Chart, number 18 on the US Billboard Hot 100, and hit number one in France and Spain. The song’s distinctive sound features a prominent synthesizer line and a guzheng (Chinese zither) played on a Synclavier keyboard, with sparse, philosophical lyrics inspired by Warren’s interest in Buddhist meditation. It’s about personal growth and shedding social conditioning, though often interpreted as a romantic ballad.

The track has been covered over 50 times, notably by Beck for Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004), Baby D’s dance version "(Everybody's Got to Learn Sometime) I Need Your Loving" (1995, UK #3), and artists like Erasure (2003) and Zucchero (2004). The Korgis also recorded a live acoustic version in 2005 and an alternate version with a different second verse for a 1999 reissue of Dumb Waiters.
