Unity of Covenants WK III

Sermon on unity of covenants week 3 - Lords day July 27th, 2025 - Trinity Reformed Church. We some continuity between the covenants. They weren't ending the covenants they were continuing it. I shall be your God, you shall be My people. All connecting to God dwelling among men. This was always hinted at throughout scripture and its developed in the covenant continuity.

Tabernacle: God instructed Israel to build a tabernacle. Exodus 25:8 - always reminding man that the only was He may be in His presence is holiness. And the fullness of this is in Christ. Exodus 29:22-44, 49. Leviticus 26:9,11. Deuteronomy 12:10-11,14;14:23;16:2,6-11
It looks forward to a place: towards Jerusalem but it is more than just a physical place. Ezekiel 36:26-38 - The covenant theme is very intimately related to God dwelling among His people. The temple is fixed.

Exodus 40:34 - the cloud of glory. God cannot be seen. This happens in the Davidic covenant. 1 Kings 8:27.

We are in the new covenant. God with us. John 1:14 - and we beheld His glory. Ephesians 2:21 - the church in whom the whole building is being held together. If you believe in Jesus He will dwell with you.
