$4,000+ NFA Tax? A Glimpse into the Future?

After the One Big Beautiful Bill became law, the NFA tax on short-barreled rifles, short-barreled shotguns, silencers/suppressors and AOWs was reduced to zero dollars. This is a major win in the gun community against the unconstitutional National Firearms Act, but it has left the door open for future tax hikes by Democrats who want to push gun control in the future.

Even though there's no chance of this passing, Senator Murphy has introduced an Amendment trying to do just that, ballooning the tax to over $4,000 for transfers, though significantly less for making them.
