Peter tells us to be sober and vigilant because the enemy is lurking in the shadows.

Sober = not drunk, not intoxicated, clearheaded, recognize demonic attacks.

Vigilant = watching or observing someone or something closely; observant, alert, attentive, being perceptive;

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. 9 Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. 10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up. How do you draw closer to God.

Develop a prayer life, talk to God throughout the day.

Get into Gods word. Listen to God as He speaks to you?

Get rid of anything that doesn’t belong in your life (people, places, things).

Close the gap.
