DC Judge Gags Mom, Bans ER Visits, Protects Deep State Dad in Robot Sex Scandal

A D.C. Family Court judge has sparked national outrage for gagging a mother and banning her from seeking emergency medical treatment for her brain-injured children—unless she first gets court approval. The children’s top doctor, Dr. S. Gregory Hipskind, has warned that such delays could trigger seizures, PTSD breakdowns, or even death.

Judge Veronica Sanchez issued the gag and protective orders against Victoria Scallan, the mother fighting to protect her children from their father, Joseph “Jay” Scallan III—a DHS official embroiled in a bizarre scandal involving robot sex videos and chronic neglect.

Despite Hipskind’s world-class credentials and 172–0 record getting his SPECT brain scans admitted in court, Sanchez has barred him from testifying. Meanwhile, Scallan—who allegedly subjected his children to horrifying abuse and was filmed sleeping during government hours—continues to receive preferential treatment. His child support was mysteriously dropped from $3,000 to $75, and he cut off the kids’ health insurance with no court penalty.

Critics say this case reeks of deep state favoritism. Jill Jones Soderman of FCVFC condemned the judge’s actions: “Instead of protecting children, the court is punishing the parent trying to save them.”

Two inexperienced guardians ad litem (GALs) from Jones Day have also come under fire for ignoring medical evidence and denying ADA accommodations. Attorney Emily Gelmann, described as a radical feminist, has aggressively blocked the introduction of expert medical testimony in court.

This scandal is now at the center of a national reckoning about family court corruption. The mother’s supporters say she is fighting not just for her children—but for every family crushed under a broken system.
