The Power of "Insignificant" Obedience; Luke 22:7-13

Delivered during the Sunday Morning Worship Service, 7/20/2025. As Luke turns our attention to the Last Supper, Jesus sends Peter and John on an important mission-- to prepare for the Passover feast. Our focus for this message will be entirely on the discreet method by which He revealed the location of the Upper Room where the supper would be held. Secrecy is obviously one of His intentions because evil now lurks both without and within His group of disciples. But the way Jesus arranges this raises all kinds of questions. Why the secrecy? Why the "weak link" of a nameless, faceless man with a water jar? Was all of this pre-arranged by Jesus or was it supernaturally revealed? Why a plan with so many "moving parts"? Ultimately we will realize that this plan worked because each one of these "moving parts" did exactly what they were supposed to do, no matter how insignificant their part might seem to be. As a result, the Last Supper-- one of the most significant events in Redemptive History, was prepared and safely enjoyed without interruption, because of the power of "insignificant" obedience.
