In this Al Mayadeen interview, Dr. Marcus Papadopoulos said that foreign policy is about self-interest, regardless of the country involved. He argued that by lifting sanctions on Al Qaeda-ruled Syria and establishing relations with it, Trump is looking to strengthen American supremacy in West Asia. Dr. Marcus said that Russia and Iran have also established relations with Jolani's Syria, such is the geo-strategic importance of the lands which comprise Syria. Dr. Marcus argued that Jolani's Syria will soon become a major conduit for American influence and power in the Middle East. As regards Israel, Dr. Marcus asserted that Jolani's Syria will, in due course, become a very important hub for the Israelis. Further to that, Dr. Marcus described Trump's new sanctions on Cuba as illogical and ridiculous, arguing that Cuba has never harmed the American people, unlike for the American deep state which, by having imported millions of illegal immigrants, has caused great harm to the American people.
