Outrage in Queens: Italian-American Community Protests Against Mamdani and Adams for “Burning NYC”
On Saturday afternoon, a group of citizens, mostly of Italian-American origin, gathered outside a political office in Astoria, Queens, to protest against Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani and Mayor Eric Adams. With signs, flags, and a clear message, protesters accused both officials of “burning the city”—both literally and figuratively—by allowing neighborhoods to deteriorate, crime to rise, and radical ideologies to take over.
The video of the protest, titled “Italians Protest in Queens Accuse Mamdani and Adams of Burning NYC,” quickly went viral on social media, not only because of the passionate tone of the demonstrators, but because it highlights the growing disconnect between New York’s progressive leaders and the citizens living with the consequences of their policies.
A City on the Brink
During the protest, strong chants were directed at Mamdani, a Democrat and outspoken member of the Democratic Socialists of America, who was accused of defending policies that dismantle public safety, shield criminals, and attack traditional values of work, order, and respect for the law.
“They’re burning our city,” shouted several demonstrators. Others held signs reading “Astoria Defends Itself” and “No More Socialism in Queens.” Participants said they were fed up with watching public spaces collapse, rents skyrocket, and violence rise—all while receiving no real response from local government.
This is not a new frustration, but the protest marks a turning point. Longtime New Yorkers—especially in Queens and the Bronx—feel increasingly displaced not just economically, but culturally, by a political elite that prioritizes ideological agendas over basic neighborhood needs.
Mamdani: A Symbol of Political Extremism
Zohran Mamdani, an assemblyman associated with the far left, has drawn criticism for pushing proposals to defund the police, redistribute resources with no accountability, and advance a utopian vision of New York that many residents see as dangerously out of touch.
For the protesters in Queens, Mamdani does not represent the values or priorities of the local community. “We don’t want New York to become a socialist experiment. We need safe streets, strong schools, and respect for working families,” said one Italian-American resident who joined the protest with her children.
Adams Under Fire: Disappointment With the Mayor
Though Eric Adams campaigned as a “law and order” mayor, his administration has failed to deliver, according to protesters. Despite his background in law enforcement, Adams has not curbed crime, managed the growing migrant crisis, or responded to the worsening housing emergency.
“We thought he would restore order, but it’s been more of the same,” said one protest organizer. “Mamdani and Adams are two sides of the same coin: lots of talk, no real solutions.”
Protesters also criticized the lack of transparency in city government and the permissiveness toward extremist groups who use “social justice” rhetoric to push divisive agendas that do not reflect the will of everyday citizens.
A Local Protest, a National Warning
What began as a small neighborhood protest in Queens is now echoing across the country. The frustration with insecurity, inflation, and political weakness is building a climate of growing polarization.
Conservative analysts have pointed to this protest as a warning sign. According to political commentator Jason Thomas: “What’s happening in New York is what happens when traditional values are abandoned. But it’s also an opportunity for citizens to stand up, organize, and take back their cities.”
Trump’s Return: Restoring Order
In contrast to the chaos in Democrat-run cities like New York, many Americans are looking with renewed hope at the measures taken by President Donald J. Trump since his return to the White House in 2025. At the federal level, Trump has pushed forward reforms to protect national security, close the borders, end sanctuary city policies, and take a hard line against those who break the law.
The images from Queens could be a symbol of an awakening. As local authorities continue to fail, the people are starting to speak up. And if Trump’s leadership has made one thing clear, it’s that America is ready to reclaim its streets, its identity, and its freedom.
Conclusion
What happened in Queens is not an isolated event. It’s the cry of a community tired of being ignored by leaders who prioritize ideology over reality. It’s proof that citizens are ready to reclaim what politics has allowed to collapse: order, respect, and hope.
The protest against Mamdani and Adams is also a warning: the progressive experiment has failed. And in its place, a new narrative is rising—one of strength, responsibility, and leadership… a narrative that is taking shape under President Trump.
