Not “Breaking NEWS”... But“A Break from NEWS”.

Written on day 3 of no news

The Benefits FAR outweigh the supposed drawbacks (already).

#1 The only drawback to not participating in “news”is NOT acting on the
completely habitual action of selecting a news site.

#2 “Wanting” to know. Now -feeling like I NEED to know whats new (and devastating)in the world)?
This is simply the “Pull of the bull”. (The pull of being addicted to bullshit).
The tug of feeling it necessary to continually ingest up to date bullshit” propagated by media.

#3 I know KNOW that FOMO is Bullshit.
What about JOMO?

Day 2 (yesterday)
here’s a few major highlights of my NO NEWS day:

-Journaled (Pencil & paper) with my morning coffee (wrote this actually!)
-Made breakfast (keenly aware of the pull of the bull telling me
that I cannot possibly create a breakfast in silence). Ignored the pull.

-Began my work , on my PC. Felt the pull. Ignored it.
Worked on a few ideas I thought of that morning (WAIT-WHAT?)
It became clear to me very quickly into my morning of work that
I got the same amount of work done in MUCH LESS TIME .
(I felt good about myself).

-Ran errands on bicycle. Enjoyed my visit at the UPS store, and the bank.
Enjoyed (more than usual – these interactions!)

-Went for a 45 minute round trip car ride. No XM, AM or FM.
Felt the pull of the bull (questioned why I need ANY news IN MY CAR!?
Even music. WHY? Opened all windows, drove.
I listened to wind.
I also heard my own thoughts.
VERY empowering!

-Met my wife for lunch at a cafe on Main St.
Subs. Outside. Happy people going by. Smiles.
A feeling of community, A true vibe that all is well in
THIS world, right here. Right now.
We have no idea what the Russian govt may have tweeted- or when the nextbig tax hike will come from our un elected “leader”?
And ya know what……….We really dont need to know- or even “care”.

Apparently Nature dosent watch news either.

The sunny 80 degree day – trees and flowers in full bloom dont
seem to feel the stress about the “insurrection”, ongoing wars, inflation, gas prices
the looming threat of doom and drama brought on by clowns posing as politicians.
They dont even know about Covid, dont care if your vaxxed or not.

Yet they bloom.

Nothing that is half a world away going “wrong” is known.
I ponder…….Is this WHY the bloom?
