Turkey is set to acquire Eurofighter Typhoon jets after Germany and the UK approved their sale. Turkey and Britain signed a preliminary deal for the purchase of 40 Eurofighters, with German Security Council clearance secured despite no official comments. Defence Minister Yasar Guler said this will boost NATO’s air power, while President Erdogan praised the support. Turkey has sought Eurofighters since 2023 to modernise its air force and is also negotiating for 40 F-16 jets with the U.S. The Eurofighter consortium includes Germany, the UK, Italy, and Spain via Airbus.
