Mobile Meditations - Winter is Here & the Fourth Turning

On a hike on a creek in March of 2024 I recorded this mobile meditation hiking around a creek in Montana. I pondered the ideas of the cultural winter, from the work of William Strauss and Neil Howe that investigated cultural cycles and the nature of the different generations, which describes four "turnings" that roughly correspond to spring, summer, fall, and winter which generally take a cycle of 80-100 years. It has been fairly obvious we've been in the global cultural winter for some time now.

How do we face the winter, both in a personal and a collective period of crisis and even loss? How does it help to trust that spring does always follow the winter?
