Are Aluminum Adjuvants in Vaccines as Safe as Claimed?

In today’s episode, Melissa is joined by Ashley Grogg, MSN, RN, BC-FMP—founder of Wellness Through Awareness and VAERS Aware. Together, we explore the controversial topic of aluminum adjuvants in vaccines. Aluminum is widely used to provoke an immune response, but is it truly safe? We unpack a recently published study in the Annals of Internal Medicine that analyzed over 1.2 million children in Denmark and is being widely cited as proof that aluminum exposure from vaccines poses no adverse health outcomes.
However, we highlight critical limitations of the study: Denmark administers significantly fewer vaccines than the U.S., excludes the Hepatitis B vaccine (which contains 250 mcg of aluminum and is given at birth), and does not compare vaccinated vs. unvaccinated children. Instead, it groups low and zero aluminum exposure together—blurring the most meaningful comparison. We also note that the study only followed children to age five, missing long-term outcomes. Additionally, we share perspectives from pediatricians with altering views on the CDC vaccine schedule and discuss what this means for informed consent, safety research, and parental decision-making.
