When Monks & Muslim Men Misbehave: The Hypocrisy of Religion gets Exposed (Again)

Religious people: they’re just like the rest of us heathens…

According to the BBC, Buddhist monks who couldn’t resist indulging in some very human behavior, got busted.

Just like many a priest before them.

Only the monks were normal about things, in that they spent their time with a grown woman, instead of an altar boy.

Also, a Roxanne red light worker told Humans of New York that her best clients are Muslim men.

Anything and everything involving religion, from the most popular to the lowly cults, generally involves the desire to curb… well, human desire.

And it always fail.

Always.

In fact, more often than not, the people preaching self-denial are often the ones indulging in the very things they tell the rest of us to avoid.

And while followers are told to obey, repent, and feel shame for being human, the leaders at the top of the pyramid are doing the same things behind closed doors — only worse.

The long and short of it is: religion is about control.

It’s supposed to be about loving one another, and worshiping an all-loving God, but it’s not.

It’s about control.

(And that all-loving God? I’m not too sure about that. War, racism, 9/11, the fact that Malcolm Jamal Warner is gone, yet Trump is keeping on keeping on… Would a “loving” God allow any of that?)

(And, for the record, “freewill” is a great song by Rush, not God’s get out of jail free card.)

Anyway, I’ve rambled.

Point is: humans are human.

Let’s stop shaming one another, and celebrate the joy we feel when releasing a big O.
